Privacy notice

This privacy notice explains how the Department of Education will be handling personal information as part of the Best Start Best Life reform consultation and engagement approach.

Collecting and using information

The below table explains what information the department will collect about you and how this will be used, this depends on the type of ‘activity group’ that you participate in.

Storing information and who can access it

Expression of interest submissions or Taskforce Advisory Group

If you are filling out an expression of interest or provide information as part of the Taskforce Advisory Group, your information will be stored on departmental systems. Only those staff at the department involved in the initiative will have access to your information.

Early Years Learning Network consultation

If you are part of the Early Years Learning Network consultation, your information will be stored on departmental systems. Only those staff at the department involved in the initiative will have access to your information.

If our appointed external facilitator has facilitated your consultation session, the facilitator may also have taken notes of your responses. The facilitator is responsible for sending these notes to the department and securely destroying those notes once this has occurred.

Survey participants

If you are participating in any one of the surveys, your information will be collected by Engage Victoria on behalf of the department. Your information will be stored on Engage Victoria’s servers located in New South Wales and then extracted and saved onto departmental systems.

Only those involved in administering the survey and providing technical support at Engage Victoria and the department will have access to your information.

All activity groups

Unless otherwise explained in this collection notice, the department will not share your information with any third parties. Where the department is going to use and publish information you have provided (for example in a report), the department will endeavor to de-identify it, so that your identity cannot be ascertained.
