Rosemary began her career as a speech pathologist working in education and health, including the role of Chief Speech Therapist at the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
In the 1980s — a time of major transformation in disability services — Rosemary moved to the Barwon area, where she worked as a team leader in disability services and specialist children's services. Rosemary then took up the role of General Manager at Gateways Support Services for five years, before being appointed Gateways Chief Executive Officer in 2003. During her tenure as Chief Executive Officer, Rosemary has developed Gateways into a highly regarded organisation that is a leader in supporting people with complex needs associated with autism, and young people with a disability who are in need of protection and care.
She has been an active member of a number of regional and statewide committees focused on improving the lives of people with a disability, including chairing the Barwon Disability Network and G21 Disability Inclusion Working Group, serving on Autism Victoria committees, and as a member of the Victorian Ministerial Advisory Committee for the National Disability Insurance Scheme.
Through her inspirational leadership and influence, Rosemary has enhanced the lives of people with disabilities, their carers and families, health professionals and volunteers and the broader community.
