The Social Services Regulator (SSR) has published its second annual report, covering the 2025-26 financial year.
The 2025–26 annual report highlights the SSR’s progress in implementing significant reform following the Rapid Child Safety Review.
During this period, there was an expansion of the SSR’s remit to include responsibility for delivering the Working with Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check, the Reportable Conduct Scheme and taking a greater role in upholding the Child Safe Standards.
This is in addition to the SSR’s existing responsibilities for regulating the Child Safe Standards, Social Services Standards and the operation of the Worker Carer Exclusion Scheme.
Throughout our second year in operation, we have continued our work to support the safe delivery of social services and have acted to prevent or respond to harm or risk of harm, including taking enforcement action against providers that seriously or repeatedly fail to meet their obligations.
The annual report has been developed in an accessible pdf format, which has been tagged for people who use screen readers.
