The Victorian Government is offering grants to incentivise final year students in speech pathology and occupational therapy to launch their careers in regional and rural Victoria upon their course completion.
The program strengthens access to essential allied health services by supporting graduates to take up roles in publicly funded health, education and community settings where they are needed most.

Program overview
Upon course completion, final year speech pathology and occupational therapy students who are employed in regional and rural Victoria can apply for a grant. From 2027 to 2028 inclusive, over 250 grants of $15,000 each are available. Funding is provided by the Department of Health and delivered in partnership with the Department of Government Services.
Each grant provides a maximum of $15,000 payment delivered in two instalments paid six months apart.
- The first instalment payment of $7,500 is designed to support costs associated with relocation and establishment in a regional or rural community.
- The second instalment payment of $7,500 is conditional, requiring the individual to demonstrate continued employment in a regional or rural, health or educational setting at the time of the second payment.
