The Victorian Challenge and Enrichment Series (VCES) supports Victorian students, who are:

  • enrolled in government schools
  • are of high ability (those who are performing, or capable of performing, a year or more ahead of the expected level of the curriculum)
  • in need of enrichment
  • in Foundation to Year 10.

In 2027–2028, VCES will provide up to 50,000 funded places for high-ability students. Activities are offered face-to-face and virtually, and can include incursions, excursions, masterclasses, workshops, and tutorials.

Funded partnerships

The Department of Education (the department) is seeking to partner with:

  • expert education organisations
  • not-for-profit organisations
  • universities
  • tech schools
  • science and mathematics specialist centres
  • government schools.

These partners will receive funding to deliver activities as part of the series.

Funding is available through an application process. Successful organisations will provide activities to a set number of students over 2027 and 2028, with the possibility of extension in 2029 at the discretion of the department.
