Victorian Maths Camps are 5-day (4-night) residential camps for Year 9 and 10 students at Victorian government schools who are high ability in mathematics.
Students work with other students who enjoy maths and learn from maths experts. Together, they solve real-world problems through fun team activities.
The camps are part of the Victorian Government's $37 million investment in Excellence in Mathematics Education. This program aims to improve maths and numeracy skills in Victorian schools.
Camps began in July 2026 with more camps running until the end of 2028. In total 960 students will have the chance to take part in this enrichment opportunity. The camps are free for students from Victorian government schools.
The department has partnered with the Australian Mathematical Sciences Institute (AMSI) based at the University of Melbourne to design and run the camps, in collaboration with the Mathematical Association of Victoria (MAV).
Camps are held at The Y Discovery Camps, in locations across Victoria, including regional areas.
