To start your journey to becoming a teacher, follow the steps below.
Step 1: Apply for teacher registration, start applying for jobs and obtain a visa
International teachers must have their qualifications pre-assessed by the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) and be assessed as “valid” to be eligible to apply for teacher registration in Victoria.
You must be registered to teach before you can start work in a Victorian government school.
If you are a teacher from overseas, our schools can help you get your visa and working rights once you are offered a role. This job offer and visa will support your teacher registration too.
