In 2023, the government launched 2 support payment schemes to help Victorians. These schemes were to help people who paid amounts towards a new home to a building company that went into liquidation. These included the Porter Davis Homes Customer Support Payment Scheme and Liquidated Builders Customer Support Payment Scheme.
The Liquidated Builders Customer Support Payment Scheme has re-opened and will close at 4 pm on 20 June 2024 (AEST). The scheme now includes builders who went into liquidation between 1 July 2023 and 28 February 2024. More information is available below.
Porter Davis Homes Customer Support Payment Scheme
This scheme launched on 29 May 2023 and closed on 29 August 2023. It was for Porter Davis Homes customers who:
- entered into a Housing Industry Association (HIA) domestic building contract
- and paid a deposit
- but didn't receive domestic building insurance because Porter Davis Homes breached its obligations.
Liquidated Builders Customer Support Payment Scheme
This scheme launched on 28 July 2023 to provide more support to more Victorians. The scheme re-opened on 15 April 2024 and will close at 4 pm on 20 June 2024 (AEST). The re-opened scheme now includes builders who went into liquidation between 1 July 2023 and 28 February 2024.
This scheme was for:
- Porter Davis Homes customers who made payments up to a value of 5% of the New Home Contract Price
- customers of other eligible liquidated builders who went into liquidation between 1 July 2022 and 28 February 2024.
