Victorians can now access new digital products to do more online and make daily tasks easier.
Through the Service Victoria website and app, parents who register their child’s birth can now get a free digital birth certificate and Victorians 15 years and over can apply for a digital proof of age card.
Parents of Victorian children born on or after 19 February 2019 can also apply for the digital birth certificate.
The digital Proof of Age card can be used as ID at venues, retailers, bottle shops (18 and over), some healthcare providers, and more.
The existing physical Proof of Age card will remain in place for Victorians aged 18 and over.
Digital Proof of Age features a timed QR code that businesses can scan to confirm the ID is valid and is compatible with the Scantek and IDU e-scanning systems used at a range of venues, making it easier to verify an ID.
