The SSR has worked with the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing, Homes Victoria, The Salvation Army, NDIA, NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission and Commonwealth Department of Health Disability and Aging to support positive outcomes for the outgoing residents of Greenslopes SRS.

The role of the Social Services Regulator

In line with its Regulatory Approach Statement, the SSR takes a graduated approach to regulating the Social Services Standards as well as the Child Safe Standards for in scope service providers.

All social service providers, including SRS providers, are required to comply with the Social Services Standards.

The SSR is committed to its duty to protect people who use social services and will not hesitate to act to protect them from harm, abuse and neglect.

This includes taking enforcement action, in line with our Compliance and Enforcement Policy, to prevent or respond to significant harm or risk of harm to people using, as well as taking enforcement action against providers that seriously or repeatedly fail to meet their obligations.
