Updated Renters Guide now available

One in three Victorians rents their home. That’s why it’s important to know your rights and how renting works.

Victoria has strong laws to protect renters. But the rules can be hard to follow, especially if you’re new to renting.

To help, Consumer Affairs Victoria (CAV) has updated its Renters Guide. The guide explains each step of renting, from applying for a home to moving out.

It also includes details about a new free service, Rental Dispute Resolution Victoria (RDRV). This service helps renters and rental providers settle disputes quickly and fairly.
