Better access to education and training
✔ Expanded eligibility for government-subsidised training and Free TAFE to support more Victorians to up-skill and re-skill.
✔ 12 courses and skill sets added to the Free TAFE list in 2023 including in construction, clean economy, and health care and social assistance.
✔ 10,000 scholarships to complete an undergraduate nursing or midwifery qualification at university.2
✔ Scholarships to complete a bachelor, graduate diploma or masters qualification in early childhood education.
✔ 6,000 new apprenticeships and traineeships in renewable energy.
✔ Centre for Excellence in Disability and Inclusion at The Gordon in Geelong to provide support for learners with disability to participate in training.

✔ SummerTech LIVE providing 400 digital technology tertiary students with job-ready skills and digital capabilities to Victorian small and medium enterprises.
Better planning and decision making
✔ Seminar series for Industry Advisory Groups that explore the possibilities for synergy and collaboration between industry and education, and advise on senior secondary pathway reforms.
✔ Detailed insights into where job opportunities are in industries, occupations and regions through the Victorian Skills Authority’s Employment Forecast Dashboard.
✔ Seven Regional Skills Demand Profiles that provide information on skills gaps and job opportunities in the regions.
✔ Improved TAFE Network planning to meet skilling needs across Victoria.
✔ Updated Funded Course List to better align with industry needs and workforce demands.
✔ Improved core offering of VET Delivered to School Students and to better equip career practitioners to advise students on course selection, and career and pathways after school.
Better training experience
✔ Dedicated practical placement officers in the Victorian TAFE Network to assist learners in securing placements.
✔ A new TAFE campus in Melton which will have a dedicated construction skills facility.
✔ A new Sunbury campus for Kangan Institute.
✔ Design and deliver the Apprentice Mental Health Training Program.
✔ Establish and deliver the Apprenticeships Taskforce.
✔ Expanded the Head Start school-based apprenticeship and traineeship program to make it available to all government senior secondary schools in Victoria.
