Courses, training providers and occupations

Courses listed on TAFE Victoria and the Victorian Skills Gateway are either regulated qualifications under the Australian Qualifications Framework or short training programs comprising units of competency from regulated qualifications.

All training providers listed on TAFE Victoria are registered under the Australian Skills Quality Authority or the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority. Course and provider data are sourced from the department, the Australian Course Information Register and training.gov.au.

Occupations are classified based on the job title and the associated duties. The classification used for the Victorian Skills Gateway is the Australian Bureau of Statistics and Australian and New Zealand Standard Classification of Occupations. Each occupation is classified to an industry which reflects the primary activity of the organisation in the state. Classifications have been assigned according to the ABS Australian and New Zealand Standard Industrial Classification.

Regions where a specific occupation is located are based on the region’s share of Victorian employment for the specified occupation.
