Merger 1993: Axedale Primary School No. 1008 merged with Longlea Primary School No. 1921 to form Axedale Longlea Primary School No. 5405.
Name change 1994: Axedale Longlea Primary School No. 5404 was only in existence for 1 day.
On 1/1/1994 the school changed its name back to Axedale Primary School and its number back to 1008.
Axedale Primary School has an official opening date as 01/01/1994 although it originally opened on 16/08/1869.
