CSV's cost controls and program delivery framework

The establishment of Cladding Safety Victoria (CSV) by the Victorian Government is a world-leading initiative, making Victorians safer by reducing the risk associated with combustible cladding on residential apartment buildings across the state. CSV has now funded cladding rectification work for 450 privately-owned apartment buildings affected by combustible cladding.

CSV has published a research analysis evaluating the evolution of the program's approach, from initial establishment through to the implementation of risk-informed methodologies and internal solutions, highlighting the cost controls and efficiencies achieved as the program matured.

The findings in the report clearly demonstrate CSV’s success in delivering on the government’s commitment to addressing the cladding problem in Victoria through the application of a tailored risk-proportionate methodology. CSV’s program has provided a unique opportunity for both government and industry alike to consider the application of a risk-proportionate model to any intervention that requires the development, design, construction, demolition, management or maintenance of buildings. Understanding each building’s unique risk profile and applying a rectification strategy based on that risk, means that redress will occur in a more cost effective and efficient manner.
