Schools can hire out their facilities for community use. This may be for recreational, social or cultural activities.
Facilities are hired out when they're not needed by students. Each school decides which buildings and facilities are available outside of school hours.

We're running a pilot program to help community organisations find the facilities they need. The pilot includes schools in the cities of Bayside, Boroondara, Glen Eira and Stonnington.

Metropolitan partnerships
This pilot is an action of the Victorian government’s metropolitan partnerships.
Metropolitan partnerships are advisory groups that allow local communities to:
- engage with state and local governments
- advise the Victorian government on the top priorities for jobs, services and infrastructure.
