Kaka Wangity Wangin–Mirrie Cultural Program Grants support Aboriginal organisations to deliver Aboriginal-led programs in prisons, with the aim to maximise opportunities for effective rehabilitation and reintegration into the community. A competitive grants process was undertaken for each grant scheme and successful service providers were funded to deliver programs in the above-mentioned key areas.
A new round of grants has been approved and will commence 1 July 2024. Applications for funding will be sought for programs and services that have a focus on Cultural Knowledge, Cultural Healing and Kinship and Family Engagement.
