The Gordon is ensuring aspiring nurses with disability have the best equipment to achieve their career goals.

New state-of-the-art nursing labs have opened at The Gordon’s Geelong City campus.

The facilities are accessible to students with disability and include:

  • assistive technology for Deaf and hard-of-hearing students
  • wheelchair accessibility
  • adjustable furniture
  • low-stimulation spaces.

The labs are part of The Gordon’s TAFE Centre of Excellence in Disability Inclusion. They are the first section of the new centre to be completed.

Construction is in full swing on the other phases of the centre. Spaces on the campus are being refurbished to create inclusive learning environments for a range of courses.

When complete next year, the centre will set the benchmark for providing accessible vocational training and education to people with disability.
