The Renters Advisory Group meets regularly with the Commissioner for Residential Tenancies to share their experiences, observations, and advice on current and emerging issues in residential rental in Victoria. This is an important source of advice that helps to inform the Commissioner’s work to champion the rights of renters in rental policies, laws, and programs.
Members of the group are formally appointed for a fixed term and are drawn from renters living in Victoria following an open advertisement of vacancies.
The Office of the Commissioner for Residential Tenancies is available to advise other groups on how to develop and improve their own renter advisory group.
