A meeting of the Victorian Collaborative Centre for Mental Health and Wellbeing Board was held on 14 November 2023 in Melbourne. This update outlines decisions from the meeting.

Lived Experience Framework

The Board approved the project plan for the development and delivery of the Lived Experience Framework. The framework will be aligned with the principles in the strategic directions roadmap and will focus on partnership, leadership and participation.

Translational research projects

The Board approved a project with the Statewide Trauma Service and Statewide Women’s Mental Health Service relating to a trauma informed practice model. The Board considered two further projects and requested further information before making a decision. 

Lived Experiences Advisory Panel appointments 

The Board approved reappointing current LEAP members and chairs for a further year. The Board acknowledged the contribution of LEAP members and thanked them for their work.

Meeting with the Minister for Mental Health

The Chair and Deputy Chair gave a verbal update on their recent meeting with the new Minister for Mental Health.  Items discussed include establishment progress to date and short to medium term priorities. Support was reiterated for Our Agency (recommendation 29) as another key and necessary component of the system architecture that the Royal Commission envisaged for transforming Victoria’s mental health and wellbeing services.
