Children’s Week is a national celebration that recognises the talents, skills, achievements and rights of children.
It will run from Saturday 24 October to Sunday 1 November 2026. Thousands of Victorian children and families are expected to take part.
This year’s theme is ‘Children have the right to use their own language, celebrate their culture and practise their religion’. The theme is a simplified version of Article 30 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
Celebrate together
Local councils, not-for-profit organisations, schools and early childhood services will host in-person and online events and activities during Children’s Week.
The department is supporting free events and activities for children aged up to 12 years. This gives families the chance to enjoy fun, engaging and educational experiences. Successful grant applicants will be notified soon.
