Camera locations throughout Victoria

Each fixed road safety camera location in Victoria can be viewed on the map below or searched using this list of cameras.

Roadworks and camera maintenance may affect whether a camera is enforcing.

The map and the list also display the annual camera test certificates. These certificates are issued after a camera is tested and found to be operating correctly.

Annual camera test certificates are available for each fixed digital road safety camera, excluding wet-film and pre-commissioned camera sites.

Certificates for pre-commissioned camera sites are issued after a camera is tested by an independent testing authority and found to be operating correctly. According to the Road Safety (General) Regulations 2019, camera test certificates are not required for wet-film sites.

Road safety camera list and test certificates

All Victorian fixed digital road safety cameras are tested annually by an independent testing officer in accordance with the Road Safety (General) Regulations 2019.

Once successfully tested, a certificate of compliance (referred to here as a ‘test certificate’) is issued for each camera, confirming it adheres to the Regulations and is operating correctly.

Under the Road Safety Act 1986, photos and data from certified cameras can be used as evidence in court.

Note:

  • Some camera locations may vary due to equipment upgrades, repositioning on different points of the intersection and suburb boundary changes.
  • Some locations have more than 1 certified camera. At these sites, certificates for each camera are provided in the same file and labelled according to their position or the lane they enforce (e.g. kerb, median, lane 1, lane 2, northbound, eastbound).
  • Cameras can be decommissioned at any time for a variety of reasons, therefore some of the camera locations listed may no longer be operating.

Upcoming (pre-commissioned) camera locations

When a fixed camera is installed, it undergoes thorough testing before it starts to issue fines. During this period, the camera is said to be 'pre-commissioned'.

A pre-commissioned camera operates as normal and may flash if it detects a car speeding or running a red light, but no fines will be issued.
