If the Premier has assessed a transport project, or a program of works or projects, to be of economic, social or environmental significance to the State or a region of the State, the Premier can make a declaration under the Major Transport Projects Facilitation Act 2009 (Act) that the project is a declared project to which all of the Act applies or to which all of the Act except Parts 3 and 8 applies.
The Premier must have regard to the declaration guidelines for the purposes of assessing the economic, social or environmental significance of a transport project. The declaration guidelines were updated in September 2025.
