Information about how allegations of abuse by carers toward children in out-of-home care are referred to the Suitability Panel by the Secretary of the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing.
Removing a disqualification
Disqualified carers can apply to have their disqualification removed by the Suitability Panel.
Definitions of abuse
Physical abuse and sexual abuse are not defined in the Children Youth and Families Act 2005. However, courts in Australia have accepted various actions as abusive.
