About community recovery hubs

The community recovery hubs were established to support communities impacted by the 2019-20 Eastern Victorian bushfires. Operated by Emergency Recovery Victoria, the hubs link you to practical support, planning and rebuilding advice, case support and support for non-profits and businesses.

The recovery hubs offer access to a wide range of recovery support and advice, including:

  • information about available grant opportunities
  • financial counselling
  • legal advice
  • mental health and wellbeing support
  • rebuilding support services
  • information and guidance about a wide range of topics to support recovery
  • community activities and supports.

Bushfire Recovery Hubs – East Gippsland

Recovery after any significant life event takes time. Emergency Recovery Victoria and other services have been able to support community members during the differing recovery phases. Another step in this process, as of the 30 June 2022, is the winding up the physical presence of the Emergency Recovery Hubs at Buchan, Cann River, Mallacoota, Orbost, and Sarsfield.

Whilst the Recovery Hubs have played a valuable role in supporting the recovery of many people, it is a reality that over the last six months there have been very few contacts made in person. We acknowledge this could be recognised as a positive sign that people are moving forward, however we understand that ongoing support is still required for others.

Communities can continue to access services that they had previously accessed through hubs.

You can continue to connect with the Emergency Recovery Victoria Team in East Gippsland for general recovery support and information. Call 1800 291 005 or East.Gippsland@erv.vic.gov.au
