Open your door to more parks and green space
We’re making sure Victorians have access to great parks and green spaces as part of our urban planning processes.
Parks and green spaces are essential to promote public health, environmental sustainability, and community wellbeing.
They provide areas for recreation, improve air quality, reduce heat, and manage stormwater, while also fostering social interaction and boosting property values.
Planning these spaces early ensures our communities are more liveable, sustainable, and resilient, benefiting all of us - and our environment.
Have your say on parks and green space
Planning for parks and green space is conducted as part of Precinct Structure Plans (PSPs).
Consultation is key to ensuring the needs of communities are reflected in planning for new suburbs and communities – especially greenfield developments.

Supporting new greenfield developments with better infrastructure
Opening doors to homes in brand new suburbs also means making sure our newest communities have infrastructure like roads, footpaths, stormwater drains, public open spaces and schools they need to thrive.
Developers and government share responsibility for providing infrastructure in new and developing areas, including greenfield developments.
