Placements Plus programs focus on fostering partnerships between universities and Victorian government schools to facilitate the delivery of enhanced placements for pre-service teachers (PSTs).
Placements Plus programs will be running in 2026.
PSTs participating in Placement Plus programs will receive tailored wraparound support during their placements. This includes professional learning and supports to strengthen connections with peers and their local school community. Tailored supports will also be provided to participating host schools, such as additional professional learning for supervising and mentor teachers.
The Placements Plus programs will be delivered in 2026 by Victorian universities in the following rural, regional and growth areas:
- Ballarat (Federation University program)
- Bass Coast and South Gippsland area (Monash University program)
- Greater Bendigo, Greater Shepparton, Mildura, Mitchell and Wodonga (La Trobe University program)
- North, West and South Eastern Growth Corridor – Supported inclusion schools (University of Melbourne program)
- South East Growth Corridor (Monash University program)
- South Western Region (Australian Catholic University program)
- Specialist school program to be delivered in association with the Principals Association of Specialist Schools (PASS) in PASS network specialist schools across the state (Monash University program)
- Wangaratta and Mitchell areas (RMIT program)
- Whittlesea and Hume areas (RMIT program)
- Wyndham area (Deakin University program)
- Wyndham area (Victoria University program).
Separately, daily grant funding is also available under the Pre-service teacher Placement Grant (PPG) program.
