The Motorcycle Safety Action Plan (the Plan) sets the strategic direction for the Victorian Road Safety Partners to strengthen motorcyclist safety.
The Plan aims to improve safety for all riders, minimise the risk of a crash occurring and manage the severity of outcomes when a crash occurs.
It forms part of our ongoing commitment to reducing road trauma under Victoria’s 10-year Road Safety Strategy 2021–2030(opens in a new window) (Road Safety Strategy), reflects Victoria’s contribution to the National Road Safety Strategy 2021-2030(opens in a new window) and supporting action plans.
It also builds on the foundational work of the Strategic Action Plan for Powered Two Wheelers and Victoria’s strong track record in road safety.
The Plan was developed through a collaborative, evidence-based process involving research, in-depth crash data analysis, stakeholder workshops and consultation with the motorcycling community including the Motorcycle Community Engagement Panel.
Underpinned by the Safe System approach to road safety, the Plan outlines our goals and priority actions by 2030.
