Victoria’s largest employing industries like construction and health care continue to grow, especially with the government’s housing and infrastructure agenda and investment in hospitals, aged care services and early childhood education.
The Victorian Government’s Economic Growth Statement and Victorian Industry Policy identify additional sectors that will keep the Victorian economy growing, namely: digital technologies; health technologies and medical research; advanced manufacturing and defence; agribusiness; and clean economy.13 Vocational education and training is the pathway into many jobs needed in these sectors.
