The Gender Equality Action Plan (the plan) is the Department of Education and Training’s (the department) strategic plan to promote workplace gender equality as required by the Gender Equality Act 2020 (Vic) (the Act).
This implementation plan accompanies the plan and provides specific actions and measures for the first year of the plan to deliver priorities in each of the focus areas.

Gender Equality Action Plan 2022-25
The department’s priorities for the three focus areas will be implemented over the 4-year period of the plan with ongoing monitoring and review.
Focus Area 1: Promote equality in the composition of our workforce
Focus Area 1 incorporates three priorities: improving data capture, aligning key policies, and embedding inclusive recruitment and career development.
Focus Area 2: Reduce the gender pay gap
Focus area 2 has two priorities: build awareness of gender equality, and implement effective gender impact assessment and reporting processes.
Focus Area 3 – Ensure a safe, inclusive and respectful workplace
Focus area 3 has two priorities: increase the capability of people managers and leaders to respond to disrespectful behaviours, and embed a culture of respect and gender equality
