Decision to temporarily suspend the liquor license of Sterling Nightclubs Pty Ltd

The Victorian Liquor Commission has suspended the liquor licence registered to Sterling Nightclubs Pty Ltd, trading as The Love Machine nightclub, for three consecutive days, starting 10am Friday, 22 August.

The Commission served the notice under Section 96B of the Liquor Control Reform Act 1998 after receiving information from Victoria Police.

The Commission holds licensees accountable in circumstances where the conduct of the licensed premises seriously detracts from the amenity of the area where they operate and in circumstances where the public is placed at risk.

It will continue to work closely with Victoria Police and will take appropriate disciplinary action when a licensee breaches their licence obligations or the Liquor Control Reform Act 1998.
