Stronger by Design (SbD) is a learner-centred model focusing on developing the learner’s language, literacy, numeracy, employability and digital literacy (LLNED) skills.
The new model ensures that all courses embed the appropriate core LLNED skills relevant to learner needs. PQF+ is a series of guides and tools based on the current PQF.

We are seeking to engage 2 staff members from up to 20 Learn Locals over a period of 6 weeks to pilot the SbD professional development program through a range of associated activities.

This will be the final group of Learn Local providers to pilot the full learner journey as described in the Stronger by Design model.

We encourage you to nominate 2 people from your organisation. This is to build capacity and ensure continuity while collaborating and supporting each other to complete the various project milestones in June and during the July school holidays.

What will the professional development cover?

The PD will cover the features and dimensions of SbD pre-accredited delivery and its impact on planning pre-accredited programs. It will include face-to-face, online learning and mentoring components as part of an integrated approach.

A one-day face-to-face event will introduce and orient participants to the Stronger by Design model, including the new PQF+ guides and tools. The face-to-face event will also create clear links with the other components of the SbD/PQF+ professional learning program, which includes online learning and mentoring via the Learn Local Secure Portal (LLSP)(opens in a new window).

The LLSP will offer self-paced and supported online professional learning that extends participants’ skills in and knowledge of the Stronger by Design model and PQF+ tools.

The online professional learning will include a modularised version of the former Adult Literacy and Numeracy Practitioner Program, updated and mapped to Stronger by Design and the Professional Practice and Recognition Framework, as well as new online learning content.

For more detailed information on exactly what your nominated participants will be working on, consult the section entitled What will your involvement be on page 2 of the EOI document.
