Industry skills and workforce snapshots

A data-driven overview of the workforce and skilling needs for each Victorian industry

Drawing on the VSA’s workforce modelling and skills analysis, these industry skills and workforce snapshots provide a concise, point in time summary of the workforce and skilling needs for each Victorian industry. Each snapshot contains:

  • A demographic profile of workers employed in the industry and within the top employing occupations
  • Current workforce projections for the industry, detailing the industry sub-sectors, occupations and regions expecting the highest number of new workers
  • Top growing occupations within the industry, with skill level, annual earnings and retention information for each occupation
  • Changing skills needs within the industry, based on skills mentioned in online job advertisements
  • Top vocational and university enrolments for courses aligned to the industry, providing initial guidance for an education and training response to skills supply challenges.

Coverage in these reports is based on employment in industries and occupations relevant to each Victorian industry, classified using the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) classification of Industries (ANZSIC) and occupations (ANZSCO 1.3).

An accessible version of the industry snapshot reports will be available soon. If you require this in the interim, please contact industryskillsanalysis@ecodev.vic.gov.au(opens in a new window)
