The Victorian Skills Authority (VSA) conducts an annual Student Satisfaction Survey. This survey is available to all government-funded Victorian students who completed or discontinued their training in the previous year. The survey helps the VSA improves training outcomes for Victorian VET students.
Students are asked about their training experience as well as outcomes from training.
Some of the questions include:
- Did you achieve your main reason for training?
- Were you satisfied with the training provided by your RTO?
- Did you get a job as a result of your training or did you go on to further training?
Survey results are reported back to individual training providers.
The Student Satisfaction Survey was previously administered by the Department of Education. The survey program transferred to the VSA in July 2021.
How is the survey conducted?
An independent research company is commissioned to conduct the annual Student Satisfaction Survey between March and May. All students eligible to participate are sent an invitation with personal login details.
The 5–10 minute survey can be completed in one of the following ways:
- online, on a computer
- on a mobile device
- by requesting and completing a physical copy of the questionnaire.
Students may also receive a phone call inviting them to participate. The independent research company offers 20 prize draws of $500 or $1,000 to students who participate (conditions apply).
