The Victorian Skills Authority (VSA) conducts an annual Employer Satisfaction Survey. It is available to all Victorian employers of apprentices and trainees with staff who completed their vocational training, or were still in training, in Victoria in the previous year.
Employers of apprentices and trainees are asked about their level of satisfaction with the training provided to their apprentices and trainees by the training provider with which they have a relationship.
Some of the questions include:
- Were you satisfied with the training provided to your apprentices and trainees?
- How likely are you to recommend your training provider to other employers?
- Did you continue to employ your apprentices and trainees after they completed their training?
Survey results are reported back to individual training providers.
The Employer Satisfaction Survey was previously administered by the Department of Education. The survey program transferred to the VSA in July 2021.
How is the survey conducted?
An independent research company is commissioned to conduct the annual Employer Satisfaction Survey between March and May. The 5–10 minute survey can be completed in one of the following ways:
- online, on a computer
- on a mobile device
- by requesting and completing a physical copy of the questionnaire
- employers may also choose to participate when contacted by phone.
