Victoria's Climate Change Strategy

Victoria’s Climate Change Strategy is leading our state to a net-zero emission future by 2050.

The ambitious strategy and interim targets position Victoria as a leader in tackling climate change and creates new jobs and industries of the future.

The strategy charts Victoria’s path to emissions reductions of between 28 to 33 per cent by 2025, and 45 to 50 per cent by 2030 on the way to net-zero emissions by 2050.

The Climate Change Act 2017 requires the development of Adaptation Action Plans (AAPs) for key systems that are vulnerable to the impacts of climate change – including transport.

The five-yearly AAPs will iteratively guide our adaptation efforts, help us accelerate those efforts and put us on a path to a climate-resilient Victoria in 2050.
