The Victorian Government’s VET Certificates in Renewable Energy program has created a range of new qualifications, micro credentials and short courses for careers in the clean economy that will be available from 2027 onwards.
Led by the Victorian Skills Authority and developed by Victoria’s TAFEs with industry, the program responds to emerging skills needs in renewable energy and electrification.
Training includes the Certificate II in Renewable Energy Technologies and Applications for secondary school students, as well as targeted courses and micro-credentials for workers. Learners can develop technical skills in renewable energy systems, solar and batteries, electric vehicle charging and home electrification, alongside problem-solving, teamwork and safety skills.
These courses will create pathways for young people and help workers upskill or reskill, building the workforce needed to install, operate and maintain renewable energy technologies across Victoria.
