Real jobs and pathways through the ‘Who Cares’ careers expo

Kangan Institute’s Skills and Jobs Centre partnered with Hume City Council, local employers and other organisations to deliver the Who Cares – Careers in Caring and Support Jobs Expo. The event connected jobseekers with employers, training providers and support services across aged care, disability, early childhood and allied health.

The Skills and Jobs Centre helped people prepare for work through career advice, job-ready workshops and one-on-one support. Participants learned about career and training options, improved their job application skills and gained confidence to take their next steps.

More than 370 people attended the expo, where over 120 jobs were available. Around 250 resumes were collected, 12 interviews were arranged and 10 people secured jobs on the day. The event showed how employers, training providers and support services can work together to connect people with local jobs and training opportunities.
