The Victorian Skills Gateway(opens in a new window) (VSG) website and coursefinder is the Victorian Government’s most visited and comprehensive online vocational education and training (VET) resource.

It provides information on approximately 400 Skills First and Free TAFE funded VET courses offered by TAFEs and other registered providers across Melbourne and regional Victoria. These include apprenticeship and traineeship courses.

The VSG is used by prospective students, parents and carers, careers practitioners, schools, school leavers, career changers, up-skillers and others looking to make more informed career decisions.

The site has recently received an upgrade with new enhancements based on findings from detailed user research. Improvements include:

  • direct links to course pages on provider websites to easily access current course details, enrolment process, fees etc.
  • the addition of comprehensive search filters
  • the ability to search on course providers
  • improved user experience and navigation
  • a refreshed design.

In the next phase of the project, our student resources will be integrated into the site, creating a one-stop location. These include Victorian-specific information about in-demand careers, learning pathways, real-life case studies, local support services and VET course options.

The VSG is managed by the Victorian Skills Authority and has been operating since 2012.

Explore the VSG coursefinder at www.skills.vic.gov.au(opens in a new window) and visit the current student resource pages.
