Join the renewable energy transition – careers in the clean economy
Victoria is leading the charge towards net zero and creating many jobs in the clean economy, especially in renewables. If you are passionate about protecting our environment and want to make a difference, Vocational Education and Training (VET) can open doors to many exciting job opportunities in the clean economy.

Electrical apprenticeship sparks a career in solar for Madi
Madi always wanted to be an electrician. After completing her VCE, she became an electrical apprentice at a small, family-owned solar company, where she conducts home assessments and works on full electrical installations. She does her off-the-job training at both TAFE and university, and loves the theoretical and practical elements of her apprenticeship.
Madi is keen to gain further accreditation from the Clean Energy Council and hopes to start her own solar business in the future.
The renewable energy sector offers many job opportunities
You could be at the forefront of exciting new developments, including in electric vehicle and battery storage technologies. These areas are growing rapidly and generating new employment opportunities.
