About Cameras Save Lives

Cameras Save Lives is a website about Victoria’s network of road safety cameras, which includes:

• fixed digital road safety cameras that detect speed and red light offences

• mobile digital road safety cameras that detect speed offences

• distracted driver and seatbelt detection cameras that detect drivers using portable devices, as well as drivers and passengers not wearing seatbelts correctly.

Road safety cameras are a key part of making our roads safer. They help to reduce deaths and serious injuries on Victorian roads and encourage safer behaviour.

The network is managed by the Road Safety Camera Program. The Department of Justice and Community Safety provides oversight of the program.
