Aishwarya Kansakar - Victorian Young Australian of the Year

[Music]

I grew up during a civil war in Nepal. Computing automation, any of these technological fields, seemed so out of reach to me. It seemed almost impossible for women to break into and that's why I wanted to do it. I just wanted to show everyone and show myself that it is for everyone and STEM is inclusive.

My mission and my passion is to democratise AI use and leverage technology to make human-centred technology impact, to basically create innovations that transform industries and to transform communities using the power of technology. I want to see a world where women come into STEM with confidence, understanding that STEM is for everyone, not feeling like they're left out. One in four Australians are currently digitally not included - that's a huge statistic given that we're moving into a world full of AI and we're entering this AI revolution and if we don't start now, we're really going to be left behind.

With Syncrowin, I see us transforming Industries in mining, power, energy, ag-tech and manufacturing. We have created a manufacturing autopilot which reduces costs or manufacturers, reduces energy consumption, creates more sustainable solutions so that our industries can operate more efficiently. We're 01:21 also doing education where we're impacting 40,000 girls with an education model that has become a world's first and we're also doing Women 4 STEM where we're impacting 60,000 women and girls STEM careers and by giving them opportunities to upskill network and also learn more technology relevant skills. I have seen firsthand the impact of not being technologically included and I think it's really important that everyone gets that equal opportunity and fair go. I hope we can bridge that gap in stem and in technology and innovation.
