Voiceover: Completing a teaching placement is an important step for pre-service teachers in their journey to becoming a teacher. This is where they can gain confidence in the classroom, learn from mentor teachers, and make important connections with potential future employers. So that's why the Victorian government is helping to make it easier to complete placements.
Grants are now available to support pre-service teachers who are completing placements in regional, remote and specialist government schools across Victoria. We know many pre-service teachers work while they study, and most need to take time off to complete their teaching placements.
These grant payments are designed to reduce financial barriers that students face when completing their placements. Payments vary based on where you complete your placement, whether it's in a regional city, a remote community, or in a specialist school.
To be eligible for these payments, you must complete a teaching placement in an eligible regional remote, or specialist Victorian government school before 31 December, 2025.
For further information on how to claim these grants, speak with your placement coordinators or search pre-service teacher grants.
