The Vicki Cleary Tribute match will be held on Sunday 21 July at Piranha Park, Coburyg

Family Safety Victoria and Respect Victoria are supporting the free match at Coburg Football Club which aims to raise awareness of family violence.

Vicki Cleary is the sister of VFL star Phil Cleary, and in 1987 she was killed by the ex-boyfriend she’d left three months earlier.

Since Vicki’s death, Phil who is a member of the Victims’ Survivors’ Advisory Council has campaigned tirelessly to raise awareness about violence against women and to change community attitudes which lead to violence.

This is the third year the Victorian Government is supporting the match, which is in honour of Vicki and acknowledges all women who have been killed by men.
