The Victorian Skills Gateway(opens in a new window) website and coursefinder (VSG) lists Skills First and Free TAFE vocational education and training (VET) courses delivered by TAFEs and registered course providers across Victoria.
The below information is for TAFEs and registered course providers about changes to the site, what you need to know as a provider, and what you need to do to ensure that your course listings are kept up-to-date so that prospective students can easily connect with you.
The VSG is managed by the Victorian Skills Authority (VSA).
Changes to the VSG website and coursefinder
The VSG was upgraded in mid-2026. Enhancements have been made to the site based on findings from our user research. These include:
- direct links to course pages on your website where possible, so prospective students can connect with you more easily
- the ability to search on course provider names and RTO numbers
- improved user experience and navigation
- a refreshed design.
A suite of student information pages will also be integrated into the site in the next phase of the project.
What you need to know as a provider
- Your provider and course details have been transferred from the previous site to the new site.
- We are no longer sourcing this information from the Australian Course Information Register (ACIR) – we are now sourcing it directly from you.
- We have emailed you requesting this information. If you have not heard from us, please contact us at victorian.skills.gateway@ecodev.vic.gov.au (please check your spam folder first).
- The new process means that we can now update your details more efficiently. We will send you periodic reminders to check your details, however you can email us to request updates at any time.
- You can still update your details in the ACIR portal for inclusion on other websites, such as the Good Universities Guide. Please contact ACIR directly(opens in a new window) for more information on this. Note that any updates you make in the ACIR portal will no longer be reflected on the VSG.
- A reminder that as a Skills First contracted provider, you are contractually obliged to maintain your listings on the VSG.

We emailed you on Wednesday 22 July, 2026 with details about how to check and update your provider and course details on the VSG.
