His Excellency Mr Gitanas Nausėda President of the Republic of Lithuania visited Victoria between 17 – 20 October 2023. During his visit, President Nauseda:
- officially opened the Lithuania-Australia Business and Science Forum
- met with Her Excellency Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC Governor of Victoria
- toured the Cyber Security Centre at RMIT University
- attended an event at the Lithuanian community centre in North Melbourne
The President was accompanied by First Lady Diana Nausėdienė who visited the Peter McCallum Cancer Centre and the Royal Women’s Hospital.
The visit aimed to build ties with Victorian businesses and universities and expand Lithuania’s engagement in the Indo-Pacific region.
