Program description

The Bonkers Beat Music Program puts music at the core of early childhood education. The program features music as a part of all lessons, including language development, literacy and numeracy and physical movement. It uses the approaches of Kodály and Orff.

Detailed cost

Starter program: $297

This provides:

  • a 5-module online music training course (20 to 35 minutes each)
  • access to online video recordings of 5 Bonkers Beat songs for 3 months
  • a certificate of completion of the Starter Program.

Bonkers Beat Online Training: $2,850

This provides:

  • 12-month membership and online training
  • a 5-module online music training course (as per the 'Starter Program')
  • monthly interactive group support sessions via Skype
  • 'Bonkers Beat & You' music album CD
  • a book with 10 traditional and 10 'transitional' songs
  • access to online video recordings of all songs from the 'Bonkers Beat & You' CD
  • lesson guides for all songs from the 'Bonkers Beat & You' CD
  • songs in PDF format with links to the Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Framework
  • newsletters for parents/carers with transitional songs
  • access to members only closed group on Facebook
  • a weekly blog.

COVID-19 changes

To support families who are currently at home and caring for young children, Bonkers Beat now offers access to a 'Music Kinder at Home' Facebook group, which is free for families and educators to join. It provides access to educational experiences for children from one to up to 8 years.   • Staffing: services should consider the cost of backfill when determining the cost of accessing this resource.
