Literacy, Numeracy and Employability Initiative – extension of 2021 training delivery to 2022

The ACFE Board has approved the extension of the training delivery timeline for programs under the Literacy, Numeracy and Employability Initiative, from 2021 contracted delivery to the end of 2022.

Learn Local providers contracted to deliver the following programs in 2021 are encouraged to keep delivering this year as much as possible but will have their Commitment timelines in SAMS2 extended to December 2022:

  • Skills for Work and Study
  • Pathways to TAFE
  • Learn Local TAFE Support.

The extension of training delivery timelines recognises that in the context of COVID-19, more time is required for the market environment to support greater participation in these programs by learners, businesses and TAFE institutes.

Learn Local providers who are contracted for 2021 training delivery in the above programs can begin planning for extension of their 2021 training delivery through to the end of 2022.

Learn Local providers who wish to deliver additional student contact hours to those previously allocated in 2021 for Skills for Work and Study, as well as those providers who were not allocated Skills for Work and Study student contact hours but are able to do so in 2022, can include a request for additional hours in their 2022 EOI application, using General Pre-accredited Training hours.

Further details will be provided at upcoming forums and information sessions.

Additional EOI opportunity for development of resources and partnerships

The following EOI opportunity for the development of resources and partnerships to support ACFE Board funded initiatives is also expected to be made available on Tuesday 7 September 2021.

Just in Time Learn Local Industry Partnerships

This initiative aims to support Learn Local providers who are forming relationships with industry but need support to do so. It will involve the development of teaching and learning resources to address just in time core skills needs of a local industry either in recruiting new workers or to support existing workers who need skills development to meet changing workplace needs.

A separate memo will be sent on the EOI opening date with further details about this opportunity.
