Program description

A Developing Brain: Supporting Whole Child Development is a group training program for early childhood professionals. The program provides educators with an understanding of neurodevelopment and its influence on behaviour, learning, regulation, and social and emotional development. Neuroscientific theory as it relates to child development will be translated into accessible, practical language, insights and strategies. The program also aims to help early childhood professionals translate this knowledge of neurodevelopment into practice and use strategies to support the growth and development of children.

The training will be presented face-to-face as a half day group training workshop (3 hours duration). Participants can enrol in a public workshop or an in-house training for a whole service. Participants will receive a copy of the ‘Dear Kids, Love From Your Brain’ book, lesson plan and certificate of completion. To ensure a reflective practice approach and the opportunity for participants to further discuss the practical application of the training in their own professional context, participants will have the opportunity to participate in one follow-up group-based online consultation (duration of 1 hour).
