Extension of By-Law No.9 - Recreational Areas

SRWs By-Law No.9 is used to manage the recreational areas at SRWs reservoirs. It was set to expire in October and has been extended for 12 months until October 2023.

PUBLIC NOTICE

Extension of By-Law No. 9 – Recreational Areas

Gippsland and Southern Rural Water Corporation, as the declared waterway manager for Lake Glenmaggie, Cowwarr Weir, Lake Blue Rock, Lake Merrimu, Pykes Creek Reservoir and Melton Reservoir, hereby gives notice, under section 287ZI of The Water Act 1989, of the making of the By-Law No.9 – Recreational Areas.

The By-Law No.9 was set to expire on 15 October 2022 and has been extended for a period of 12 months to 15 October 2023.

The objectives of this by-law are –

a) to prescribe provisions for –

I. the control, management and use of land, services and facilities; and

II. the protection of the land, services and facilities; and

III. the protection of people in the area from injury or nuisance; and

IV. the conservation and preservation of plants. Animals, flora, fauna and habitat; and

V. the control of the introduction of any new plants and animals in a recreational area under the management and control of the Authority; and

b) to prescribe provisions for the management, protection and use of lands, waterways and works in a recreational area.
